Relief Printmaking

In My Mind
22 in x 6 ft, tie dyed fabric, ink, wooden rods, and rope, 2022
This piece is about me and my personality. It is a 6 foot piece of fabric that I tie dyed colors that I thought fit the concept which were purple, red, and black then I hand printed some of the images and screen printed some of the images that I carved from linoleum. I placed the images that fit the human body like the drawing of eyes or the heart with flowers, down the center of the tapestry then surrounded them with images I thought fit my personality or images I usually lean toward and find visually appealing. When placing the images I took inspiration from tattoo flash sheets.
Untitled
11in x 14in, ink on eastern paper, and a linoleum plate, 2022
For this project we were just told to draw something since it was our first project so I decided to draw a skull spitting apart with a rose between to show inner beauty because a lot of what people see is just surface level. I carved into a linoleum plate to make the images raised then rolled a layer of black ink on the raised surface, placed the plate on paper, then put it through the press.

11in x 14in, ink in western paper, cardboard, thread, grit, hot glue, and lace, 2022
This was my first time trying collagraph so I wanted to try to make a image with thread then surround it with geometric shapes. I used hot glue for the blue shapes and grit on glue for the red layer. I then used lace cut to look like drips as the last layer and to make it look like the hand was coming out of something.

For this project I wanted to take a break from the kind of dark imagery. I wanted to do something more soothing. I carved three plates, one for the details of the flower and koi fish, one for the color layer of the flower and koi fish, and one for the water layer.
